In what Ukrainian officials describe as one of the largest Russian airstrikes since the beginning of the war, a missile attack struck an American-owned factory in Mukachevo, western Ukraine, leaving at least 15 people injured.

The strike is part of a wider wave of bombardments targeting critical infrastructure and industrial facilities across the country. Kyiv accuses Moscow of deliberately escalating violence to derail any possibility of peace negotiations.

Ukrainian authorities stated that the attack highlights Russia’s determination to prolong the conflict, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterating that “Putin has no interest in peace.”

Washington condemned the strike, calling it a “direct provocation” against Western presence in Ukraine, while NATO leaders vowed continued support for Kyiv.

Observers fear this escalation may mark a new stage of the war, with broader implications for European security and U.S.–Russia relations.
