In a major show of force, the United Kingdom has deployed Typhoon fighter jets to Poland as part of NATO’s new air defence mission “Eastern Sentry.”

The move comes after a series of Russian drone incursions into Polish and Romanian airspace, raising security concerns across Eastern Europe. The mission will see the UK working closely with Germany, France, and Denmark to protect NATO’s eastern flank and reassure allies near the conflict zone.

UK Defence Secretary stated that this step demonstrates Britain’s “unwavering commitment” to NATO’s collective defence and readiness to deter any further provocations. Analysts believe this deployment could be part of a broader NATO strategy to increase deterrence and surveillance capabilities along the alliance’s border with Russia.

With rising tensions in the region, NATO leaders are calling for unity and vigilance, emphasizing that any violation of member states’ airspace will be met with a coordinated response.
